With over 20 years of experience in Financial Services, Ope has honed his expertise in Digital Payment & Strategy, Innovation, Fintech Startup Incubation, Project Management, Product Development, Business Process Improvement, Banking Operations, Client Service, and Relationship Management.
Ope began his career with Trust Bank of Africa (now Sterling Bank), where he worked within both the Relationship Management and Operations teams.
He later joined Access Bank Plc as an Operations Manager, delivering exceptional service across the bank’s branch network. His contributions included streamlining and automating key processes.
In his tenure at Access Bank, Ope transitioned to the Digital Banking team, leading the Product Development and innovation team. He played a pivotal role in the Fintech Startup engagement ecosystem through his work at the Africa Fintech Foundry (AFF), where he led the VC & Incubation, Digital Product Solution, and Experience & Engagement teams, creating innovative solutions across various industry verticals.
Ope served as the Head of Digital Capabilities and Solutions at Access Bank Plc before joining Old Mutual as the Head of Digital for the West African business.
Currently, Ope holds overall responsibility for the Digital Transformation of emPLE General Insurance and Life Assurance businesses. He possesses a BSc (Hons) in Pharmacology from the College of Medicine, University of Lagos, and an MSc in Business and Management from the University of Strathclyde Business School, Glasgow.
In addition to being an entrepreneur, Ope is a chartered banker, an experienced product owner, and a certified project manager.
When Ope is not trying to take over the world, he is an avid fitness enthusiast, often leading aerobics classes at the gym. He has also completed two 42 km marathons and two 10 km marathons in Lagos, Nigeria.
